because neither Alperen nor Rytis are the first to start these searches.

i am sure there might be other projects running, i did not research, i am talking only about ideas and projects within BOINC community

In reply to Falconet's message of 30 Oct 2026:
Did he criticize BitBOINC Bitcoin puzzles? If not, then what's the issue?
I guess my question is what exactly did he steal? Did he steal Alperen's apps?

As i said before: the chronological coincidence is very suspicious, but it is difficult to prove "the theft"
I would be very cautious with accusations

I myself am talking about theft of idea and chronological order of project release proves that. With AI it is possible to refactor any code so it wont have visual similarity unfortunately.

In reply to Falconet's message of 30 Oct 2026:
Frankly, I think it would be best for BitBOINC to focus on BitBOINC and less on what others do or don't.
Someone else launched a radiation monitor project? Good for them. A Bitcoin puzzle search? Cool, good for you.

Alperen said he has a physicist from Brazil who agreed to supervise and analyze results. But then he also says he's abandoning the project.
That users have halved - I mean, this isn't a surprise. Controversy aside from all the forum threads everywhere about stealing and malicious software (there was zero proof for what was stated and this doesn't reflect well on the project and certainly pushes people away), that's completely normal. People join, crunch a couple of tasks, go away because they either didn't like the project or some other reason.

Why not focus on consolidating this project first, getting the science analyzed for it's worthiness, publish a paper?
Maybe cool down a bit on the number of projects being launched as well, stop trying to do so much at the same time.

I generally agree with this. Just not agree that the fact of cloning, that only happens that someone clones Bitboinc subproject, is a normal situation

I totaly agree with that, i want so see where it is going next...Nobody can ignore when thousands of AI Projects spawning right now. I would like to see how the BOINC Community reacts on that. It must all settle now...I know it frustratin for the owner of bitboinc...but now there is the need of some patience and wait...not letting them bringing this project down...whats perhaps is the try of it....but when the community sees....there are the same projects about serveral other projects witch the origin of bitboinc was...people will start to ask...why this project is on statistic and the other not....so i will bring some rumors...i dont want rumors in the BOINC Community tho....but its important to wait until the poeple are asking themselfs whats going on.

You can wait with new astrophysics projects for lets say one month...focus on the storagesituations and so on...until we sorted out whats going on...so you dont need to put new energy in it right now, but let it run for the community, and fixing some problems that are still there with acoual website and projects.

now as "the puzzle" project news say, the stolen project is added to Science Cloud (managed by Rytis) and to Free-DC

How is that a science ?

Rhetorical question. the BOINC platform is hijacked and is transforming to a joke

--
PS: i asked in free-dc chat: @Skillz now that thepuzzle project is added to the Science Cloud and to Free-DC, could you please add bitBOINC as well as it has the same calculation plus more fun apps ? And the accusation of AI use seems to be OK today as all new projects are built with AI. Thank you!

They're discussing it on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/BOINC/comments/1xjfxae/whats_going_on_beaconhome_stole_bitboinc_code/).

now Rytis will promote this project on Primegrid forums and all initial criticizers of bitboinc will stay silent

I don't frequent the Primegrid forum, but I hope it's not as you say

At the moment there is no sign of it in the forum.

But could be they seperate it completly to avoid reputationdamage to PG.
