Is there a way to upgrade to 2.38? My computer: Linux Mint 21.3 [6.8.0-138-generic|libc 2.35]

There are posts on Mint Forums about compiling it from source. If doing that, I would jump to an even newer version. XUbuntu26.04 has 2.45. |

Yes, this issue should be resolved tomorrow. Your system is using an older glibc version (2.35), while the current application requires glibc 2.38. I will release a new Linux application build tomorrow that is compiled against an older glibc version, so it should work on Linux Mint 21.3 and other systems with older glibc versions as well. There is no need to manually upgrade or replace glibc on your system. Thank you for reporting this issue! It helped us identify a compatibility problem with the current Linux build.

Found the actual root cause, and it's not what we thought -- it wasn't a leftover old build, it was the BOINC server libraries themselves being compiled on a host whose glibc is new enough (2.41) that the linker picked a newer symbol version (GLIBC_2.38, from libm) than older distros like your Mint 21.3 (glibc 2.35) ship. Every Linux build made on this server since that library was last rebuilt inherited this, not just Keraunos. Rebuilding the whole toolchain (BOINC's own libs included) inside an Ubuntu 22.04 environment to pin the glibc baseline back down. The CPU and OpenCL builds for Keraunos, Potamos, and Sphinx are already redeployed with this fix; the CUDA builds (including the one you hit) are rebuilding now and should be live within the hour. Will confirm here once your specific app_version is updated -- sorry this took two tries to actually get right, and thanks for testing the "fixed" build and reporting back instead of just giving up on it. |

All redeployed now -- Keraunos, Potamos, and Sphinx are all fixed for CPU, OpenCL, and CUDA on Linux x86_64 (confirmed max glibc requirement dropped from 2.38 to 2.34, so Mint 21.3's 2.35 is well inside range). Your task specifically should get the new keraunos_gpu build on its next request. Let us know if it still fails and we'll keep digging, but this should be it. |
